This article presents a detailed proof of a 3 dB lumped parameter quadrature coupler suitable for HF/VHF and gives a set of formulas for calculating element parameters. Through a practials example at 30 MHz, the main points of designing the quadrature coupler and its frequency characteristics obtained by computer aided analysis are introduced.
