Initial Research on Activities of Carnival in Rural Areas of Northern Anhui

中国传统社会没有狂欢节,其民间却有狂欢化活动。皖北农村的狂欢化活动既表现在人生大事婚丧嫁娶中,也表现在日常生活中;既表现在村庄内,也表现在田间与河边。其意义在于挑战封建正统文化。

There is no carnival in Chinese traditional society. But there are activities of carnival among the people. Activities of carnival in rural areas of Northern Anhui are held not only in important ceremonies, but also in people's daily life, in villages as well as in fields and along river banks. The significance of is that it challenges the orthodox culture in feudal ages.
