目前,美国的远程教育在世界远程教育中居于领先位置,尤其是美国的凤凰城大学更是世界一流的开放大学。通过对美国远程开放教育的管理模式、运作模式以及基本理念的分析和归纳,总结其市场化机制、全方位服务以及学习方式、教师选聘等方面的经验,以此作为建设具有江苏特色的现代远程开放大学的重要借鉴。

American distance education occupies a leading position in the world. Especially the Phoenix University is among the top open universities of the world. This report analyses the management and operating mode and the basic concept in American distance education and sums up their experiences in its marketable mechanisms, omnibearing services, study mode and teachers employment, etc. which may provide important reference for developing Jiangsu's open universities.
