Pun is a widely used figurative speech in both English and Chinese. The puns' translation is not only the switch of two different languages but of two distinct cultures. The paper expounds the implication of culture, the universals and peculiarities of cultures. The author further argues that the puns can be translatable if translators or interpreters achieve intercultural competence.
