摘要
在对100条现代英文报刊商业广告进行观察和词频统计的基础上,本文着重研究了广告中的动词,尤其是高频动词的用法。从中发现,英语广告中的高频动词可分为三大类,其逻辑主语分别为广告主、广告所宣传的商品或服务,以及广告对象(广大消费者)。这些动词的高频使用表现了这三者之间的密切关系,并且促成了广告劝说功能和促销目的的实现。
The use of verbs, verbs with high frequency in particular, in English advertising is studied on the basis of the observation and statistics of verbs with high frequency in a total of 100 English commercial advertisements that are selected from today's magazines and newspapers. Relative theories in linguistics,advertising and advertising psychology are applied. It is found that the frequently used verbs in English advertising fall into three categories as their logic subjects are respectively the advertiser, the product or service advertised and the target (the consumers). Moreover, such verbs, which are frequently used in advertising, reveal the close relationship among the three sides of advertising mentioned above and contribute to persuasiveness and sale promotion of advertising.
