摘要
英国 190 7年诺贝尔文学奖获得者R·吉卜林与印度有着微妙的剪不断、理还乱的精神关联 ,这与他早年的印度生活密不可分。在他的创作中 ,存在着一种明显的“历史缺席”现象。本文拟从这两方面进入 ,探讨吉卜林与印度的心物邂逅及其创作特征。
Rudyard Kipling, English Nobel prize winner of literature, frequently expressed certain sophisticated and paradoxical feelings in his writings towards India where he had a long and colorful personal experience. Based on a descriptive survey of his India-related works, the article suggests that he adopted an unmistaken approach of the 'absence of history' in unfolding of the colonial Indian life by bridging the gap between imagination and the miserable reality.
