Samuel P. Huntington's 'the clash of civilizations ' thesis seems to provide a clear-cut analytical framework for world politics in the 21 century. In closer examination, however, we find that his assertions might not be that valid. From history point of view, there are important factual and logical errors in his arguments. Meanwhile, he also obscures the interests and power conflicts that are latent behind the western and non-western conflicts. The so-called 'the clash of civilizations ' thesis , especially when China becomes the target, is actually a result of Huntington's compulsory Cold-War mentality due to his inability to face the negative side of the western civilization, and a schizophrenia fiction born out of the grave psychological pressure of colonialism.
