Wen-xin-diao-long is a Book of Article Theory——on Liu xie's Literarure View

《文心雕龙》是一部体大思精的文章学理论专著,它对文章的产生、变化、发展以及文体分类,文章写作、鉴赏均有系统的论述。刘勰对文章的认识,与今天对文章的认识大体相同;而对文学的认识,与我们有所不同:第一,在他所列文学体裁中,只有诗歌、辞赋等少数几种,不包括小说、戏剧等文体;第二,他所认为的文学性,仅限于运用语言、选择内容和表现手法以及抒情言志等方面,没有涉及到概括现实,塑造形象反映社会生活等重要方面。就是说,他论述的文学性,既是诗歌辞赋所具有的,也是一般文章所具有的,所以就其理论体系看,主要是文章学理论。

Wen-xin-diao-long is a great and in-depth book of article theory,which Systematically elaborates the appearance,change,development of articles as well as the Literary style classification,article writing and appreciation.Liu xie's idea on articlesis more or less the same as what we hold today.But as far as liserature is concerned,there are some differences:First literaturestyles listed by Liu Xie only include poem,prose and a few other types,novel and drama exclusive.Second,His view of literatureis only restricted to utility of language,choice of content,means of expression as well as expression of one's feelings and so on,However,Some importants aspects such as demonstration of reality,making of image and reflection of social life are not involved.That's to say,nature of literature discussed by him can not only be found in poems and proses,but also in commom asticles.Sowen-xin-diao-long is a book of article theoty,judging bits theoretical structure.
