This paper believes that carnival has dual nature in Bakhtin's theories.Carnivalization Janus forms the essence of humor.The diachronic interpretation of Rabelais in the humor history by Bakhtin,together with the synchronic observation into the artistic world of Rabelais,reveal the general picture of aesthetic character in carnivalization Janus.
