Words of mood are a part of speech that exists specifically in Chinese but not in English. This article first of all proves that the Chinese words of mood are mainly used for pragmatic functions especially for the pragmatic function of the agent, and inspired by the Sandor’s point of view that Chinese is a leading language of agentive particles, after affirming the irreplaceable importance of the words of mood in ancient Chinese in terms of pragmatic function and proceeding from the words of mood, makes a superficial analysis of some examples of the errors in the English translation of ancient Chinese books and records.
