摘要 伴随飞速增加的带宽、实时和多媒体应用的普及、几乎持续地以指数规律增长的规模,Internet的控制机制和行为特征也日趋复杂和难以理解。为了认识和理解现代网络的行为特征和性能表现、保证和提高现有网络的服务质量、推动因特网和信息基础结构的健康发展,有必要建立一套完整的网络测量体系。本文通过对近十年来国际国内相关组织在网络测量领域的研究成果进行总结和对现有网络测量理论和技术进行分析,比较详细地介绍了现有的有关网络测量的意义、方法以及常用的测量工具,以使读者对网络测量有一个较为全面和深入的了解。 Abstract: With the fast increasing bandwidth, the popularization of real-time and multimedia applications, and the bigger and bigger scale, the control mechanism and behavior of Internet become more and more complicated. In order to realize the behavior and performance of modern internet, guarantee and increase the quality of service, and promote the robust development of internet and the basic architecture of information industry it's necessary to develop a set of network measurement system. After summarizing the achievements in network measurement research field and analyzing the current theory and technology of network measurement, this article introduces the significance, methods, and tools of network measurement in detail so that the reader can make sense of the network measurement.
