摘要 介绍了超宽带无线传输技术及其发展策略。我上先简要回顾了超宽带的历史 ,并给出了 FCC关于超宽带的定义 ,接着介绍了超宽带信号的两种形式 :基带脉冲形式和调制载波形式。超宽带技术具有能充分利用频带资源、传输速率高、系统实现简单、功耗低、可穿墙通信、定位精度高等优点 ,在无线多媒体局域网、无线传感网、交通系统、军事系统等中具有广泛的应用。我们还将超宽带技术放在无线局域网的体系中 ,与现有的主要无线局域网技术进行了比较。我们认为在 15米以内 ,超宽带具有传输速率高的优点 ;在 10 0米以外 ,超宽带具有功耗低、成本低的优点。最后 ,我们探讨了超宽带技术的发展策略和方向。超宽带技术与其它先进通信技术 ,如 OFDM、MIMO等的结合 。 This paper introduces UWB radio technology and discusses its development strategies. First, we briefly introduce UWBs history and its definition given by FCC. Then, two UWB signal forms, the impulse radio form and the carrier modulation form, are introduced. UWB has the advantages of fully utilization of bandwidth resources, high data rates, simple system implementation, low power consumption, the ability of through all communication, and high precision localization. As a result, UWB has many potential application areas, such as wireless multimedia local area networks, wireless sensor networks, transportation systems, and military systems. In this paper, we also put UWB into the WLAN architecture and compare it with major WLAN technologies, such as IEEE 802 211a/b/g. By comparing UWB with the WLAN technologies in transmission data rate, transmission range, system cost, and power consumption, we conclude that UWB has the advantage of higher data rate in short range(below 15 meters) and the advantage of lower power consumption and implementation costs in longer distance(beyond 100 meters). Finally we conclude this paper by discussions on UWBs development strategy and research directions. It is expected that UWB, combined with other advance technolgoies, such as OFDM and MIMO, will bring us a high performance wireless communication system in the near future.
