This paper mainly discussed the light steel structure skip applied in old mine rebuilding——a winding container in light weight. Some technical problems should be solved in the design. It is first to selecte a sole weight coefficient of a skip. It introduced a concept of a sole weight coefficient λ of the skip. Then it should analyze the structure of several type skips, the closing reliability of the gate, reset of gate, impact effect during the unloading, additional stroke for the unloading operation, speed control at the unloading section and others. Finally, it selected a f type of the skip as a basic type of the light steel structure skip.
