The features of GRT-100 digital transformer protection and the problems found in its dynamic model test were introduced. The applicability research was conducted on replacing the existing transformer protection in Bao Steel Power Plant with GRT-100 digital transformer protection, which has a practical meaning to the application of GRT-100 protection. Problems that should be noted in applying digital type protection to replace analog type protection were also discussed.
