<abstract> this article the main reason of nonorderly shutdown of reciprocating compressor was analyzed. The corresponding improvement measures of consumable accessory selection for compressor set,internal structure design,the es- tablishment of auxiliary system,and control system operation and maintenance were mentioned to raise the reliability for reciprocating pump. The measures for raising the reliability of reciprocating compressor were discussed in the fields of process design complete sets of equipment operation and maintenance were discussed.
