This paper describs the development, fabrication and application of polymer membrane ion selective electrodes. The polymer membrane ISE is classified as two sorts: solid membrane and liquid membrane. The features and prospects of them have been discussed respectively. The characteristics of polymer to be used as matrix which can influence to the property of ion selective electrodes have been studied.
