Plate heat exchanger and shell & pipe heat exchanger are widely used in heat transmission. The new type of all-welded plate & shell heat exchanger combining the advantages of plate, shell & pipe heat exchanger has been applied in industry and shipbuilding. This paper mainly introduces the structures, performances of plate & shell heat exchanger and compares the shell & pipe and plate heat exchangers.
