从形合和意合看汉英翻译中的形式对应

On Formal Correspondence of C/E Translation in Terms of Hypotaxis and Parataxis

形式对应理论是20世纪翻译理论发展的一个新突破点。论文从汉英两种语言不同的组织特点——意合和形合着手,对汉英翻译中两个重点问题——主谓结构和语篇组织手段进行比较分析,研究形式对应的本质及其可行性。提出汉英翻译中形式对应的本质应当是在灵活中求对应,在个别对应中求得整体对应。从而,进一步发展形式对应翻译理论,并为翻译实践提供可操作性指导。

The theory of formal correspondence is a break-through in the developing process of translation theory in the 20th century. The papermakes a comparative study upon the two focal points in C/E translation——S-V structure and organizational means for discourse——in termsof the two languages' different organizational characteristics, hypotaxis and parataxis, to study the true nature and flexibility of formal correspondence in C/E translation. It points out that the true nature of formal correspondence in C/E translation should be flexible and integrative correspondence. The paper aims at developing the theory and providing an operative guidance for translation practice.
