摘要 国内出版物对美国诗人弗罗斯特若干诗集书名的翻译极不统一,对某些文章篇名的翻译“题不对文”,对"Poetry isthat which is lost in translation"这句名言的翻译似乎也不甚贴切。本文简单分析了这些现象,并在此基础上提出了较为贴切的中文译名和译文。 In the publications on the Chinese mainland, some of the titles of Robert Frost' s works such as A Boy 's Will, Mountain Interval and A Further Range have far too many Chinese versions while some of the titles of his essays have unsuitable Chinese equivalents. The translation of Frost's best-known remark is also not entirely satisfactory. All these inadequate renderings have perplexed Chinese readers. The paper points out this phenomenon, analyses briefly the causes behind it, and provides a closer and more natural Chinese equivalent to each of the source text items selected for discussion.
