摘要
本文拟运用乔姆斯基的约束理论(Binding Theory)来描述祈使句的句法结构,确定其主语所指,并将祈使句的主语与呼语(Vocative)进行分析比较.
Although normal grammar books have given some explanation to the structure of English imperative sentences, it is actually prescriptive rather than descriptive, especially as far as the interpretation of covert subjects is concerned. Chomsky's Binding Theory is uttered here to describe imperatives' syntactic structure, determine the subject, and make a contrast between the subject and vocatives.
