汉英词汇反映的妇女社会地位变迁

The Changes of Women's Social Status as Reflected in Chinese and English Vocabulary

妇女曾长期处于一种被压抑被歧视的地位 ,但近几十年来妇女的社会地位有了很大提高。语言是社会的镜子 ,社会的变化在语言中有所反映。本文试图通过考察汉英语言在“称谓”、“字词”、“俗语”等方面的变化来探讨汉英词汇反映的妇女社会地位变迁。

For centuries, women had been in an inferior position. In recent decades, however, women's status has been improved greatly. As language is a mirror of society, this social change has left traces in language. Through a brief survey on Chinese and English address terms, stereotypes, and certain words and collocations, this paper attempts to examine how the elevation of women's status is reflected in language.
