Positive Backwash of Achievement Testing on EFL Teaching and Learning

成就测试对外语教学是有着正面反拨效应抑或是负面反拨效应一直是测试领域研究的课题。本文分析了成就测试与外语教学之间的紧密关系 ,指出外语教学中对此重视不够 ,并通过实验证明了成就测试对外语教学的确有正面反拨效应 ,因此希望把成就测试有机地融入教学中 ,使其真正成为外语教学中一个有效的辅助工具。

Whether achievement testing has positive or negative backwash effect on foreign language teaching and learning has always been a topic for discussion and study in the testing field. This paper examines the interrelationship between achievement testing and teaching and learning, and attempts to determine whether achievement testing has positive backwash on teaching and learning. It also points out that achievement testing is not given enough attention in EFL teaching. After conducting an empirical study, the author draws the conclusion that achievement testing has positive backwash effect on EFL teaching and learning. The author hopes that achievement testing can be effectively integrated into instructional process and serve as an effective teaching learning aid.
