Which comes first? ——The relation between "whole" and "part" in Metaphysics

张传开教授认为亚里士多德在“全体与部分的先后问题”上陷入了矛盾与混乱 ,笔者不认同他的观点 ,本文旨在探析亚里士多德“全体与部分的先后问题”的真正的原意。本文首先考察了在《形而上学》中亚里士多德对“全体”、“部分”、“先于”范畴的界定 ;然后对其“全体与部分的先后关系”进行重新解读 ,以此求教张传开教授 ;最后分析了亚里士多德“全体与部分的先后关系”的局限性与合理因素。

Professor Zhang Chuankai deems Aristotle sank into antinomy and confusion on the ' early or late' relation between whole and part. The writer does not approve his viewpoint. This text is to discuss and analyze the real original intention of the ' early or late' relation between whole and part. At first this paper investigates the meanings of the categories of whole 、 part and earlier in Metaphysics. Secondly it interprets ' early or late' relation between whole and part to ask for advice from Mr..Zhang. At last it analyses limitations and reasonable factors of Aristotle’s viewpoint.
