摘要
英语教学应该具有科学性、人文性、民族性和自主性,反映时代精神,体现科学文化的发展和进步.文化交流首先是民族的,然后才是世界的.文化交流与冲突并存,碰撞与融合共生,构成世界文化交流中多元整合的高级阶段.中外语言文化的融会贯通必将提升学生英语学习的积极性和主动性,文化品位的加强必将锤炼学生的英语语言和跨文化交际能力.多元整合是构建新世纪我国英语教学的总体特征.更高层次的教学要求向广大高校英语教师提出了新的挑战,迎接这一挑战,是每一个大学英语教师的历史使命.
English teaching should be characteristic of scientificity, humanity, nationality and independency. It should reflect the spirits of time and the development of science. Civilization exchanges and conflicts coexist, while collisions and combinations are emerging simultaneously, which is the high multi integrity stage of world cultural exchanges. Such integrity of Chinese and foreign cultures will enhance students' initiative and motivation and the promotion of cultural level will cultivate students' English competence and cross cultural exchange ability. Diversity and integrity construct the comprehensive characteristics of our English teaching in the new century. Higher requirements put up a new challenge to the English teachers in the universities. To meet the challenge is our historical mission.
