摘要
威拉·凯瑟被誉为美国乡土作家,她的作品以珍珠般的光彩在美国文坛上显露出独特的艺术魅力.本文通过对凯瑟主要作品的主题、艺术特色及其现实意义的分析,指出对拓荒精神的赞美和对人类精神美的追求是其作品经久不衰的主要原因.
Known as a provincial writer, Willa Cather enjoys a unique place in American literature world with works of her own artistic glamour. Based on the analysis of themes, artistic features and realistic significance of Cather's major works, this paper attributes the durability of her works to her eulogization of pioneer spirit and pursuit of spiritual value of human beings.
