摘要 "体用"论是叶燮文艺思想的主导思想。它的产生有其历史的必然性,它是在明清之际掀起的尊经复古思潮的历史语境中,在继承钱谦益、黄宗羲和申涵光等前辈对"温柔敦厚"新的阐释与认识的基础上,并在与汪琬的论争中,创造性地提出来的。"体用"论是对儒家"温柔敦厚"诗教传统的继承与发展,它把艺术形式真正从儒家"怨而不怒,哀而不伤"、"主文而谲谏"的中正和平的价值传统中解放出来,还诗歌在艺术表现形式上以真正的自由,从而在形式意义上完成了对儒家诗学的真正革命。这是其理论的进步性所在。 'Tiyong' theory is the guiding idealogy of Ye Xie's literary and artistic thought. Its emergence has its historical inevitability. It is put forward creatively in the historical context, the trend of thought which respects classics and restores ancient ways set off in Ming and Qing Dynasties, on the basis of inheriting new exposition and understanding of 'tenderness, honesty and sincerity' of Qain Qian-yi, Huang Zong-xi, Shen Han-guang and other elders, in the argument with Wang Wan. 'Tiyong' theory is inheritance and development of the Confucian poetic tradition of 'tenderness, honesty and sincerity'. It really extricates art forms from Confucian value tradition, restores poetry to its real freedom in the sense of form. This is the progressiveness of the theory.
