为提高水土保持工作的效率和精确度,本项研究在全面掌握辽宁省小流域的基本情况及动态变化信息的基础上,应用GIS技术,建立了辽宁省小流域信息系统,使研究内容全部数字化、模型化、智能化,为水土保持行政主管部门和科研业务部门治理、监督、规划提供科学的依据.该方法的应用是对传统小流域信息管理的一个重大突破.

A GIS-based small river basin information system developed, based on wide experience in small river basin management of Liaoning Province, to improve water and soil conservation efficiency and accuracy is described. The objective researched is already entirely numeralized, modelled and intellectualized. This will provide a scientific basis to manage small basins for competent authorities. This system represents an important breakthrough of a small river basin management.
