Nowadays,English is spoken by hundreds of millions of people as their mother language or the second one and used in more than thirty countries or places. Different countries and places,however,use the English,more or less,with a little different style,especially the American English. This article describes the characteristic of the American English in the aspects of the identity,vocabulary,pronunciation and spelling in order to display its historical reasons.
