新时期文学是中国现代文学的一个有机组成部分,也是自"五四"新文学以来最活跃、最具有文学史意义的一个特殊发展时期。它先后经历了对政治理性主义的思想解构,恢复了人性写真和悲剧精神,最终以自然主义的艺术倾向过渡,完成了中国现代文学与世界文学对接的使命。

New period literature is a component part of Chinese modern literature and is a period of being the most active and most significant ever since new-vernacular literature promoted by the May 4th Move- ment. It has undergone political rationalism,recovered faithful representation of human nature and tragic spirits,and finally completed the mission of linking up the Chinese modern literature and the world literature.
