The Selecting and Processing of Film and TV Works While Teaching English Through Them

“看电影 ,学英语” ,作为一种教学辅助手段 ,以其特有的优势和良好的教学效果 ,已越来越被人们认可并积极采用。在教学过程中 ,“看什么”是英语影视教学成功与否的关键之一 ,因此 ,应对影视作品有所选择 ,并进行相应的加工。

As a new teaching aid,“learning English through seeing films and watching TV” has its unique advantage and produces fairly good teaching results, and so it is being accepted and adopted by more and more people. But it is not “a balm for treating headaches, scalds and other minor ailments”. One of the key factors to successful teaching is “what to watch”. This paper gives a brief account of some characteristics of teaching through seeing films and watching TV, puts forward some considerations taken into account for selecting film and TV works, and introduces some methods for processing them.
