唐制,皇帝的姑母、姐妹、女儿分别称为大长公主、长公主和公主,是身份极其尊贵的女性。根据《新唐书》、《唐会要》的记载,唐有公主212人,此外唐王朝对少数民族奉行和亲政策,一些宗室女子和皇室姻亲被封为公主出嫁异族。在男尊女卑的中国古代社会,深居后宫的的公主们在社会政治生活中的作用极为有限,大都默默无闻。唐代公主总人数不多,但性格刚强、有胆量,勇于抗争,她们斡旋于两京宫廷、驰骋于杀敌疆场,建功于大漠塞外,丰功伟业名垂千古。

In the regulation of the Tang Dynasty,emperor's aunt;his sister and his daughter were called elder senior princess;senior princess and princess respectively.They're all extremely honorable ladies.According to historial books,there′re 212 princesses in the Tang Dynasty.Moreover,Some imperial kinswomen who perform the mission of marrying with minority nationalities are usually offered princess by emperor.In the ancient Chinese society,males and females were treated so differently that princesses are limited to play important social roles,most of them are unkown to the public.There are not many princesses in the Tang Dynasty,but their dispositions are indomitable,brave and fightful.Some of them mixed with royal offcial circles;or others of them galloped across the battlefield.Many of them established immortal acheievements.
