Myostatin,a Negative Regulator of Muscle Growth

摘要 肌肉生长抑制素GDF-8属于TGF-β超家族一员,最早研究发现在骨骼肌中特异性表达,是骨骼肌生长发育的抑制因子。对该因子的基因定位、结构、功能和作用机制进行综述,并阐明其在运动实践中的应用前景。 Myostatin(GDF-8),a member of the transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)superfamily,is specifically expressed in skeletal muscle where it acts as a negative regulator of skeletal muscle growth.This paper summarized the myostatin gene's localization,structure,biological function and mechanism,then clarified its significance and applied prospect in sports.
