Dostoyevsky' s Ecological Wisdom Viewed from his Description of Animals in his Fiction

陀思妥耶夫斯基在其小说中用动情的、极富人性化的笔触描绘了一幅幅人与动物惺惺相惜、真情相处的动人画面;同时,也毫不掩饰地暴露了人极其凶残地虐杀、残害动物的暴行,并对此进行了深入的文化反思。在其作品中,孕育着当代生态伦理所极力倡导的生态整体主义、生态责任等思想雏形。

In his fiction, Dostoyevsky presented a series of moving pictures of the mutual appreciation and harmony between humans and animals with his emotional and humanized touches. In the meantime, he explicitly exposed humans' atrocity of cruel killing and inuring animals and deeply reflected on it culturally. In his works embodied the ecological wholism and responsibility advocated by contemporary ecological ethics.
