元杂剧作家职官考略

Survey of Official Ranks of Yuan Play Writers

学界皆认为元杂剧作家地位低贱。然而 ,元杂剧作家中到底有多少人生活在社会底层 ,又有多少人进入仕途 ,他们的职官品阶如何 ,却无人作过具体的统计考证。文章对元杂剧作家的职官品阶 ,作了系统的综合考论 ,证实了元杂剧作家“门第卑微 ,职位不振” ,“沉抑下僚 ,志不得伸” ,“屈在簿书 ,老于布素”诸说 ,符合历史的真实。

It is well accepted by all schools that Yuan play writers shared comparatively humble ranks. However, how many did they live as the lowest class, or have official ranks? What rank did they usually have? There is no concrete Stat. or textual research. In this paper, those writers' vocations as well as official ranks are studied, so that some sayings, such as “humble family status, seldom promotion' and so on, is accordance with historical facts.
