2 0世纪前半期关于《红楼梦》的结构主线研究较少而且零散。 5 0年代以后这方面的专门研究才逐渐多起来 ,先后提出第四回总纲说、爱情主线说、贾府衰败主线说、盛衰爱情双重主线说、爱情主线盛衰副线说、凤姐宝玉主线说、石头主线说、阴阳五行结构说、两翼对称结构说等 ,异彩纷呈 。

The first half of 20th century,there are a few scattered research about composition.From 1950’s,numerous researchs made varying theories to the composition from different angles,such as the theory that the forth chapter is programme,the theory that love is masterstroke,the theory that decline is masterstroke,the theory that love and decline is masterstroke,the theory that masterstroke and vice stroke of composition,the theory that Fengjie and Baoyu is masterstroke,the theory that stone is masterstroke,the theory that Yin and Yang of composition,the theory that symmetry of composition,and so on.It is difficult for distinct opinions to reach the agreement.
