解读英语音美素br-

The Interpretation of English Phonaestheme br-

语言学家Firth早在上世纪30年代就提出音美素这一术语。但人们对音美素现象的形成和发展过程尚未有深入的研究。本文从词源研究角度出发，对英语音美素br-[br-]进行了解读，研究后结论认为，这一具体音素所表达的音义联系主要源于字母B的象形因素，从而也为其他音美素和字母的研究提出了思路。

The term“phonaetheme”was first used by Firth J.R.in 1930, but so far the formation and development process of this phenomenon have not been deeply studied. With the aid of English etymology,this article probes into the phonaestheme br-[br-]. It has reached the conclusion that the meanings of words under bl- are closely related to the hieroglyphic factor of letter B. This also gives enlightment to the further study of other phonaesthemes and English letters.
