From the aspect of religious belief, this paper divides Dickinson's poems on death into five kinds: realistic description of the process of death; imagination of the world after death; the view on the relationship between man and God; view on real life through death; ambivalent feeling of sorrow and envy about the dead. The paper also discusses the cause for producing these poems and their social significance.
