A Research on the Linguistic Features of English Tour Guide Speech

Based on theories of functional stylistics, this paper is a discussion of the linguistic features of English tour guide speech, with the focus on register and the context of situation. It points out that English tour guide speech has its own special features in pronunciation, vocabulary, and syntactic structures, and in field, tenor and mode.It is necessary for tour guides to have a better understanding of such features and further improve their language abilities in guiding.
