Wu Jingchao is one of the founders of Chinese sociology. His academic career can be divided into four phases, with special achievements, characteristics and motivating factors respec- tively. Although his achievements were comparatively the least at the last phase, his pursuing spirit is very inspiring. His academic interests are catholic, with a focus on modern social issues. His sci- entific approach guarantees his pioneering work, bringing forth very distinguished prophetic achieve- ments. He is a milestone in the history of Chinese sociology. Wu Jingchao's academic manner pro- vides us a glimpse of his aspiration and a good grounding in sociology.
