On the Rationality Value of Technology

作为人类理性的一种特殊形式,技术理性既是一种追求合理性、规范性、有效性、功能性、理想性和条件性的人类智慧和能力,也是形成并蕴含于人类技术实践活动中的一整套基本文化价值。通约、量化思维方法的普遍化,分解组合的还原论思维方法,实践地、程式化地控制世界,物质需求的优先性,效用至上原则,社会组织与社会生活的理性化,技术化生存,理想状态的不懈追求与创造,自然解蔽与生命祛魅等就是其基本方面。

As a special form of human rationality, the technological rationality is a kind of human wisdom in combination with ability or skill to pursue a rationality, including normality, validity, functionality, perfection and conditions on which to realize them. It is a set of basic cultural values which involve in the course of human technological practice, such as the thinking methodologies of quantification, simplification, composition/decomposition and popularization, thus controlling the physical world by normalized practice. The rationality value improves such fundamental points as the preference of material demand, principle of 'Quality/Efficiency First', rationalization of social structure/life, reliance on technological development, endless attempt and creation of ideal conditions, disclosure of the nature and elimination of mysticism.
