"三个代表"重要思想是中国共产党人对世界潮流的自觉回应,它来源于实践,也必然指导实践。以"三个代表"重要思想为指针,在外交实践中必然以国家利益为主旨,而不是以意识形态为标准;必然改善与发达国家和地区的关系,关注全球性问题;必然尊重文化和文明的多样性,在更大程度上加快改革开放的进程;必然遵循国际上所公认的国际规则和惯例。

The important thought of 'Three represents', originated from and instructive to the practice, is the conscious response of the CCP to the world tide. Guided by the 'three Represents', the CCP will naturally target our national interests instead of ideology; promote the relations with the developed countries and regions, and pay more attention to the fundamental problems of human beings and the global affairs; respect the multiplicity of cultures and civilizations; quicken the pace of the reform and opening to a greater extent; obey the internationally acknowledged rules and conventions.
