This paper mainly introduces the principle, character of the HCR technique and its application in dealing with different industrial wastewater. It points out that the HCR technique has an advantage of high efficiency and less space over the traditional activated sludge process, thus it has a promising prospect. Research and application should be enhanced in the future.
