Core samples of the Jilin chondrite have been determined for cosmogenic 53Mn. The 53Ma profile in the Jilin chondrite can be explained in terms of a two-stage exposure history. The first stage occurred near the surface of the parent body in 2π geometry and lasted about 10 Ma. The Jilin was then expelled from its parent body and exposed to cosmic rays in the se-cond (4π) stage which lasted about 0.5 Ma.
