摘要
超宽带(UWB)技术在无线通信领域中有着巨大的应用潜力。本文介绍了UWB技术标准化的最新进展以及标准化机构的概况。并对参与竞争的两个基于超宽带的WPAN 建议(DS-CDMA 和MB-OFDM)进行了比较。最后,介绍了超宽带的MAC层的技术状况和WiMedia联盟对WPAN 发展的作用。
Ultra-wideband (UWB) shows great promise for use in a number of wireless communications applications. This article gives an insight into the current developments in the standardization of the technology. The standardization body is introduced, and the standardization criterion presented. Competing proposed standards for WPAN, DS-CDMA and MB-OFDM, are discussed comparatively. The MAC layer is discussed and comments on its future evolution given. The role played by WiMedia is presented and a possible key standard is predicted.
