Design and Implementation of MPEG-2 Multiplexer Over HDTV Network

提出了一种在高清晰度电视(HDTV)网络上对MPEG-2传输层进行统计复用的设计方案。它利用PCI总线的高速传输能力和接口芯片S5933的功能,根据统计复用原理,在满足输入和输出buffer不上溢的情况下,最大限度地增加信号的传输速率,使得复用后的MPEG-2传输流信号能够直接和调制解调器接口。该方案已经在实际的传输流复用器中得到实现。

This paper provides a hardware design method of statistical multiplexing for MPEG-2 signal based on PCI bus and its interface core-S5933. According to the statistical multiplexing principle, the author proposes a way to improve effectively signal transmission rate of MEPG-2, and the output layer signal could be interfaced with QAM modem if the input and output buffers do not satisfy the condition of overflow
