This paper discusses the nature, objectives, assignments, and prospects of sex education in schools. It is asserted that sex education in schools should be conducted in a stratified and gradually deep - going manner, based on the principles of right time, moderate degree, and appropriate amount, dependent on the age, congnitive level and actual needs of educaotion receives. The authers sey five objectives of school sex education, and specify assignments involving sexual physiolo-gy, psychology,morale,cultivation of self- defense ability, and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases and AIDS, The au-thers point out also not a few difficulties and problems to be solved in school sex education in China today.
