STUDY ON ECOLOGY OF PRIMATE IN GUIZHOU

本文记述了贵州省现有野生灵长类动物资源种类、活动、分布和种群数量。

The observations on the ecology of primate in Guizhou Province of China were made in October l986 to November 1989. The investigative range involves 82 counties, and the investigative journey covers a distance of more than 20 thousands Kilometers. In the process of the research, the primate living in different habitas were follow and observed, and some of them were counted. There are Primate of four species in Guizhou Province; Guizhou Golden Monkey (Rhinopithecus roxellanae brelichi), black leaf Monkey (Presbytis francoisi), Rhesus Monkey (Macaca mulatta) and Stumptail Macaque (M. thibetana). Most of the Guizhou primate live in the remote mountain areas and along the two sides of rivers. The buds, flowers, fruits, sprouts and leaves of plant are the foods for the monkeies. They pick them from 100 plants nearby. There are from 650 to 750 Guizhou golden monkeies, they only live in Guizhou Fanjingshan National Natural Reserve, there are 946～1094 black leaf monkeies in 11 counties, 7895～9286 resus monkeies in 67 counties, and 1680～2410 stumptail macques in 24 counties.
