In combination with the production experience at Guangzhou Jinlai Cold Rolling Steel Strip Co. Ltd, a renovation project of the tension control system for the temper mill was undertaken. Emphasis was put on the key points that should be considered in designing the system, and on a description of the constitution of the renovated system. The process flow becomes more proper, and the surface quality of the cold-rolled steel strip is markedly improved after the renovation.
