概念结构对语义原子论和语义场理论的整合

Conceptual structure and amalgamation of atomism and field theory

本文试从认知语言学的角度来评析语义原子论和语义场理论 ,并为两种理论找到契合点。原子论用分析的方法拆解词语内部的语义成分 ,场论用综合的方法建立词语之间外部的联系 ,二者历来互不相容。本文认为 :若能将内部的分析和外部的联系结合起来构造关于词义的理论 ,就能使两种理论形成互补。认知论中的概念结构理论就是这两种语义理论的契合点。

Atomism and field theory have veered in opposite directions: The former seeks the sense of a lexical item from within by componential analysis while the latter looks for the external semantic relationship between lexical items in the same field by composition. We argue that the two theories are in reality compatible and conplementary and can be integrated into one single theory of lexical semantics. The amalgamating mechanism is the proposition of conceptual structure in cognitive linguistics.
