论“信达雅”的历史发展轨迹

On the developments of fidelity intelligibility and literary polish

本文历史地、动态地考察了我国译学界近百年来在翻译标准问题上所取得的理论成果 ,通过横向和纵向比较研究 ,认为严复首倡的、作为翻译标准研究起点的“信达雅” ,经过数代译学家的批判、继承和创新 ,现已演化发展为“信达切”、“信顺”、“信”、“出神入化”等四大主要流派。

The article, which is based on a historical and dynamical study and a horizontal and vertical comparison of the theoretical achievements in translation criteria attained by Chinese translation theorists in the past hundred years, holds that as the starting point of the research, having been inherited, criticized, and reformed by generation of Chinese transologists, the theory of “Fidelity, Intelligibility and Literary Polish” advanced by Yan Fu, has now developed into four main branch schools: “Faithfulness, Expressiveness, and Fitness”,“Faithfulness and Smoothness”, “Faithfulness”, and “Perfection in Translation out of Likeness in Spirit”
